Jenny Noland, Functional Nutritionist in Eugene Oregon

I am a functional medicine nutritionist based in Eugene, Oregon.  My very engaging nutritional therapy practice has been up and running since 2015, serving clients locally as well as some from around the world. My practice focuses on using nutrition, natural modalities and lifestyle changes to optimize digestive health, thyroid, and metabolic function. It’s been a tremendous amount of work to educate myself and establish my practice.  It is also one of the most rewarding experiences

of my life.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. I was a hardworking business and IT professional for 15 years, working eight years for Deloitte. I enjoyed my business career, yet I found my focus shifting over time.

My interest in nutrition was piqued in 2002 upon meeting my future husband, a long-time sufferer of autoimmune disease. Witnessing firsthand the ineffectiveness of conventional medicine, a desire to find alternative methods to help my husband grew in my heart.  This ambition only intensified in 2010, after experiencing my own health crisis.  I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and endured a traumatic surgery with rare life-threatening complications.

As painful as this experience was, it blossomed into the realization and motivation that it was necessary to take my and my family’s health into our own hands. I then embarked on my journey of intensive study of food and nutrition. After applying lifestyle changes to myself and my family, I experienced and witnessed the amazing improvement in our health and wellness. Nutrition has become my life’s passion. This passion and my desire to share such valuable knowledge with others spawned my nutrition practice.

Along with over a decade of researching and studying gut health, chronic inflammation, and the endocrine system, I have successfully completed multiple practitioner's trainings:

  • 2021: Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition - Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences

  • 2019: Certified Nutritional Endocrinology Practitioner - Institute of Nutritional Endocrinology (3-year practitioner certification program)

  • 2017: SIBO Practitioner - Master Class practitioner training hosted by SIBO expert naturopathic doctor Nirala Jacobi.

  • 2017: Certified Digestive System Master Coach - Institute of Nutritional Endocrinology (Comprehensive Digestive Function Practitioner Training)

  • 2016: Hashimoto's Institute Practitioner - Trained by nationally renowned naturopathic-endocrinologist Dr. Alan Christianson & Izabella Wentz

  • 2014: Integrative Nutrition Health Coach - Institute for Integrative Nutrition

I also completed the following trainings:

  • Functional GI Practicum by naturopathic gastroenterologist Dr. Steven Sandberg-Lewis

  • Mastering Inflammatory Bowel Disease by naturopathic GI expert Dr. Ilana Gurevich

  • Gastrointestinal Strategies and Treatment Applications by functional medicine pioneer Dr. Datis Kharrazian from Kharrazian Institute

  • Hashimoto's training hosted by Kharrazian Institute

From my experience working with clients, I have witnessed a strong connection between body and mind.  Many physical health issues are rooted in unresolved emotional traumas.  I am currently also being trained to become a certified Transpersonal Energy Healing Counselor. Transpersonal Energy Healing Therapy assists the clients in exploring the aliveness of energy that lives in their system, bringing it into conscious awareness and fluid movement. It will facilitate healing and helps clients identify more with their Essential Self, thereby frees themselves of limitations.

When not immersed in nutrition, I am likely absorbed in other passions such as dancing and yoga (I am also a certified yoga teacher). I am in the midst of a wonderful life journey, with plenty of highs and lows, and most of all, an abundance of learning. I am grateful for the many experiences and growth opportunities. I want to continue to grow and learn more about love and compassion, foods, nutrition and cooking, and fitness and spirituality. Putting these all together is essential for our wellbeing.

I’m passionate about helping others realize and live up to their potential by using food and lifestyle to build a solid foundation for personal growth. I believe the right lifestyle fuels creativity and ingenuity that can support our wellbeing.
