Steamed Shrimp (or Prawns) with Garlic
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 3-4 minutes
Level: easy
Ingredients:
0.5 - 1 pound of medium or jumbo shrimp, peeled
Make sure to buy domestic shrimp or shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico. Do not use farmed shrimp.
4 cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped into fine pieces
2 tbsp refined olive oil or avocado oil
0.5 - 1 tbsp of organic, gluten-free soy sauce (naturally fermented)
If you don't want to use soy sauce, use a few pinches of pink salt as an alternative.
a pinch of black pepper
1 green onion, chopped into short pieces
1 tbsp of cilantro
Directions:
Lay all the shrimp on a plate beautifully. Pour soy sauce (or pinks salt) onto the shrimp. Add black pepper.
Put some water in the steamer and bring it to a boil. Put the plate with the shrimp into the steamer and steam for 2-3 minutes until the color of the shrimp turns pink. Take the plate out of the steamer right away. It is important not to overcook the shrimp.
Spread the minced garlic, green onion, and cilantro on top of the steamed shrimp.
Heat the oil on medium heat for about 30 seconds. Pour oil into the shrimp. Enjoy!
